On New Year’s Day 1989, the Fox, NBC and CBS affiliations all shifted in Miami, with the longtime ABC affiliate serving South Florida, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas unaffected as WPEC-12 in West Palm Beach lost ABC in favor of CBS.
