FCC Seal 2020 Federal Communications CommissionThe ongoing government shutdown has lead the the FCC suspending most operations.

As the commission’s LMS database for transactions, modifications and other broadcast applications is offline during the shutdown, no new filings can be made since the shutdown started on October 1. It also impacts access to previous filings, making it impossible for us to view those made since our last report other than those we had already written ahead of time. As such, this report is incomplete with all other filings to-be-added once the shutdown ends and access to the LMS is restored.

FCC Actions

Ahead of the shutdown, the FCC issued a Notice of Violation to Bouldin Radio LLC’s 103.9 WJOE Vienna/Parkersburg WV for spurious emissions. WJOE was inspected by an FCC agent in July who measured the emissions at an RF output port on the station’s transmitter and found that spurious emissions on 110.9 MHz were more than 600 kHz removed from the carrier and were not attenuated at least 71 dB below the unmodulated carrier level.

License Cancellations

The FCC cancelled the licenses of two stations for being silent for over 365 days: Grace Missionary Baptist Church’s 1530 WFIC Collinsville VA and Jam Media Solutions’ 94.5 WCMS-FM Hatteras NC.

Beloit College surrendered the license for 90.3 WBCR-FM Beloit WI.
