Paul Schadt, the veteran co-host of “The Paul Schadt & Sarah Lee Morning Show” on 96.9 The Kat, WKKT will officially sign off tomorrow morning (3/11). Schadt has had a 44-year career in Charlotte radio, with 27 years at 96.9 The Kat.
Schadt has received numerous accolades from the ACM and CMA and is recognized as the longest-running radio personality in Charlotte. Following his retirement, he will serve as a station ambassador, participating in on-air segments and various events.
Leaders at iHeartMedia commended Schadt’s legacy, highlighting his enduring impact on both the station and the community.
Schadt announced his intent to retire this past October saying at that time, “This has been the toughest decision of my life by far, because I love what I do. I’m a very lucky guy, I’ve had the most remarkable ‘job’ anyone could ever ask for. Growing up, I never would have believed the people I’d meet and work with, the experiences I’d have, and all the lives I’d get to be a part of every day.”
Schadt began his career at WSOC, Charlotte in 1981.
