WesTex Communications Variety His “106.3 The Raider” KTJK Abilene TX has debuted a local morning show “Raider Mornings with Chad Ray” hosted by ‘Chad Ray’ Kirkland.
Kirkland, the public address announcer for the Abilene Flying Bison baseball team, is a retired member of the United States Air Force and most recently was working for the Department of Defense. He previously worked at KPOS Post Texas and called McMurry University War Hawks football on sister Red Dirt Country/AAA “101.7 The Patriot” KABT last fall.
Operations Manager Dustin Tatro who serves as the Flying Bison organist said, “I realized sitting six inches away from Chad in the Flying Bison PA booth last summer that he was a guy made for local radio. He loves this nation, our communities, and most crucially – the music. There’s going to be great synergy on our staff personally as well – not only are Chad and I friends, he, I, and George (our Saturday morning oldies host) are all current or retired first responders and/or military, people of faith, and we are all three Masons.”
Kirkland will also serves as Sales Manager for the WesTex Communications station group. KTJK’s programming began simulcasting in 2024 on the trio of 93.5 KKHR Roscoe/Sweetwater, 98.5 KTJO Rule, and 104.1 KCKB Moran.
