Following the passing of Program Director Mike Edwards in December, Saga Communications Hot AC “Mix 95.9” WMXZ Isle of Palms/Charleston has filled his spot on its “Two Girls & a Guy” morning show as Jay Shadix moves from middays to join Tanya Brown and Brooke Ryan.
Shadix has been with WMXZ since 2022. He previously spent seven years in the market at Cumulus Media Country turned Classic Hits “96.9 The Wolf” WIWF with time in mornings and afternoons and has also worked at stations in Seattle and St. Louis. He is also an Army veteran and actor with appearances in recent releases including “Red Notice”, “The Menu” and “Outer Banks”.
Shadix said, “I’m incredibly honored to join Tanya and Brooke on 2 Girls and A Guy on Mix 95.9. No one can truly fill Mike Edwards’ shoes. He was a legend. I’m going to do my best to bring laughter, heart, and maybe just a little chaos-because I think Mike would’ve wanted it that way.”
Brooke Ryan stated, “The most exciting part for me is that while no one will ever replace Mike (nor would we ever want someone to), Jay is a great addition and will be a different kind of ‘Guy’ for the show.” Brown added, “Jay is not here to replace, he’s here for his own light to shine. Welcome to 2 Girls and A Guy Jay! I’m looking forward to years of laughter as a team.”
With Shadix’ move to mornings, Ellison Harley moves from weekends to middays. He is also heard on sister Hip Hop “99.3 The Box” W257BQ/WXST-HD2 as ‘Big Eazy’.
