John Brown University will relaunch Silent 100.3 KURM-FM Gravette/Fayetteville AR on Friday, April 4 as Christian CHR “100.3 Real-FM“.
The new brand previously operated as a streaming sub-brand of sister Christian AC 90.9 KLRC Tahlequah OK/101.1 KLAB Siloam Springs AR since 2017. The station features a mix of Christian pop and Hip-Hop and will be programmed by KLRC Director of Strategy & Innovation Ansen Bayer. Bayer has been with KLRC since 2008 previously holding roles as Creative Director and Assistant Program Director.
Bayer, who will also host afternoons said, “We are thrilled to bring 100.3 Real FM to the airwaves of Northwest Arkansas. This expansion will help us reach new listeners in Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, as well as parts of northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri, all in service of KLRC’s mission to share hope in Jesus with as many people as possible.”
Christian FM’s syndicated Brant Hansen and Sherri Lynn will host mornings on “Real-FM“. Isaac Weaver, who previously worked at KLRC and the streaming “Real-FM” from 2016-23, will return to host middays. Zoe Moody, who also also spent time at KLRC while a student, will host nights. Current John Brown University students will be heard from 10pm-12am.
John Brown University acquired KURM-FM last October for $450,000. Former owner Kermit Womack shut down the station and sister 790 KURM Rogers/94.5 K248DM Huntsville on July 1, 2024 ending his 72 year broadcasting career.
