FCC Actions
The FCC has proposed an amendment to the Table of FM Allotments to adjust two vacant allocations in Matador TX.
The proposal would replace the vacant Class C2 on 96.7 allocation with one on 103.1. The vacant Class C3 on 103.1 would be moved to 98.3. The moves would resolve the conflict between 96.7 and Mekaddesh Group Corporation’s 96.7 KYLB Turkey TX, which it was short-spaced to.
The FCC has entered into a Consent Decree with Marion Williams’ 105.5 W288DU Canton MS and a $1500 civil penalty for failing to timely file a license renewal application. W288DU was required to file its renewal application by February 3, 2020 ahead of its June 1 license expiration. It did not do so until April 4, 2024 multiple years after the fact. A $6500 penalty has originally been proposed last July with a base forfeiture is $3000 for failing to file a required form and $10,000 for extended periods of unauthorized operation then cut in half for being a secondary service as a translator.
