FCC Actions
Phoenix Radio Inc.’s 1480 WRCK Remsen NY has entered into a consent decree for failing to maintain its Online Public File in parts of 2020 and 2021. An informal objection against WRCK filed by Up Music Radio alleged that WRCK had not uploaded any quarterly issues and programs lists to WRCK’s online public
inspection file between 2014 and 2017, and those lists were uploaded late for the third
and fourth quarters of 2020, and the first through third quarters of 2021 along with failing to include required political advertising information in its public file. The objection also said that the station had not provided public notice of its renewal on-air. The FCC cleared Phoenix of the public file uploads for 2014 through 2017 as it did not own the station at the time. The consent decree was agreed to to resolve the other violations.
Pirate Actions
Two more property holders were issued Notices of Illegal Pirate Radio Broadcasting for stations emanating from their properties. North Shore Financial I, Inc. was issued one for one on 91.9 in Springfield Gardens NY. Owner Skyline 3694 LLC and property manager Langsam Property Services Corp. were both noticed for a 94.5 originating in the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan.
