FCC Actions
A pair of South Florida LPFM’s have received Notice of Violations from the FCC for operating at much higher power than authorized.
Hollywood Brothers Helping Others Inc.’s 92.7 WZOP-LP Fort Lauderdale is licensed to operate with 22 watts/82m with their transmitter power output licensed for 52 watts. On May 13, 2024 an FCC agent inspected the station’s transmitter site and observed it running with a TPO of 514 watts.
Broward Jewish Alliance’s 96.1 WZPP-LP Hollywood is licensed to operate with 48w/44m and a TPO of 126 watts. At an inspection the same day, the FCC agent observed WZPP-LP’s TPO at 1022 watts.
Both LPFM’s simulcast Caribbean programming as “The Voice of the Caribbean” along with Multimedia America’s 94.3 WQPN-LP Miami. At the time of the violation, WZOP-LP and WZPP-LP aired separate Caribbean programming as “WZPP Radio“.
Pirate Actions
30 Arbor Street LLC was issued a Notice of Illegal Pirate Radio Broadcasting for a tenant of their property operating a station on 94.5 in Hartford CT.
License Cancellations
After going silent in May 2024 for Isolation circuitry issues in its directional array, Iroquois County Broadcasting Company has turned in the license for 1360 WIBK Watseka IL.
Silent Notifications
Following the collapses of multiple towers from the ice storms in late March, K-Love Inc’s “Air 1” 98.9 WAWM Petoskey and MacDonald Garber Broadcasting’s “106.7 Star Country” WSRT Gaylord MI have both filed Silent STAs.
AM Changes
After withdrawing its CP to eliminate its other tower used in its nighttime array and drop to 80 watts at night, Cumulus Media’s Christian 1090 KAAY Little Rock
