The Beat of Boston debuts

This morning at 6 an, iHeartMedia Boston debuted a new format and a new moniker on WKAF 97.7.  The Beat of Boston featuring “Classic CHR" had replaced Urban AC(adult contemporary)and The New 97.7 which has been in place since January 2017. Iheart acquired WKAF in December 2017 but hasn’t really put its signation on the station until today.
